BIO / Founder

Molly Ondich is a native Californian turned Mainer. After graduating from the California School of the Arts creative writing conservatory, she relocated across the country to western Maine. Passionate about the value of intentional living, strong community, and creative development the idea for Garnet Villages was born. While she has many creative passions, her focus generally lies within creative writing and fiber arts. She is a Maine Master Naturalist and loves spending time outdoors. She currently resides in the flagship Garnet Villages location with her partner, many pets, and fellow villagers.

our residents

  • Avery

Avery has helped create Garnet Villages from the ground up. She is primarily a graphic designer and visual artist but has interests in many disciplines including stained glass, stone carving, collage, set building, logo design, and more. If she’s not at the village you can often find her at the local pool lifeguarding or leading a swim lesson.

  • Kolyn

Kolyn is guaranteed to bring the vibes to every function. They know how to hype up a room— whether it be through theatre, drag art, or hosting a dinner party. They are also an excellent DM for the folks in the house who play Dungeons and Dragons. We are very luck to have their energy in the village!

  • Autumn

Autumn is one of our “jack of all trades” villagers. She dabbles in a little bit of everything, from songwriting to balloon art. Kenny and Autumn moved up from Connecticut together at the start of 2025 and have quickly integrated into the greater Farmington community.

  • Kenny

Kenny is our resident “Bob the Builder”. He is a carpenter who specializes in historic homes, so much of the renovations you see around the house were completed by him. Kenny is always looking to lend a hand and if you need a job done quickly and well, he is your guy! His carpentry work is not just utilitarian, Kenny uses his skills as an art form and is wonderfully skilled in his craft.

  • Leah

Leah is the newest addition to the village. She grew up in Franklin County and has recently returned after living in North Carolina for several years. She has the cutest side kick— her service dog, Lucius (who is also unanimously the favorite roommate). She loves writing high fantasy and focuses on detailed, intricate world building. Affectionately nicknamed “The Chaos Kernel” Leah is an integral part of keeping the cooperative running smoothly!

  • Coming Soon!

Stay tuned to meet our newest villager, arriving in 2026!

alumni

  • Matt

Matt was one of our very first villagers. Matt graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington with a creative writing degree, and he loves writing romance stories as well as poetry. He recently relocated from western Maine to sunny Florida! We miss him terribly, but we are so grateful for the time we had with him here!

  • “My experience with Garnet Villages was a fantastic one. It was a very friendly and kind living space. Everyone is very kind and creative. I loved the trips we would take together to celebrate milestones with each other. If there was one place I’d want to live again it would be Garnet Villages.” — Matt

  • Mar

Long before Mar formally moved in they have been a part of the village, and they continue to be a valued member of our community! If there’s a problem in the house, chances are Mar has a way to solve it. They are a talented visual artist and fiber artist and are almost always working on a unique crochet pattern. They recently graduated from UMF and are starting their career teaching middle school math!
