HERE YOU CAN FIND The LISTINGS FOR OUR AVAILABLE ROOMS
-
We have a first floor room available the starting the second week of September.
Garnet Villages is a large, 4,000+ square foot Victorian home with three stories and 10 rooms. It has many updated features and is undergoing renovations while still maintaining the original historic charm. We currently have seven full time residents. Pets may be approved on a case by case basis, there are currently several pets in the home. The home is walking distance from the UMF campus & downtown Farmington.
he ideal future resident is someone passionate about strong community, clean & responsible, creative, queer friendly, flexible, willing to engage in healthy conflict resolution, and able to commit to the expectations that come with being an active member of the cooperative.
Prospective residents will not be a good fit if:
- They are not willing to compromise or practice flexibility (cooperatives don’t work if you don’t cooperate!)
- They are not community-minded or don’t value solidarity
- They do not feel equipped or do not have a desire to play an active role in the functionality of the cooperative & take ownership over their role
- They cannot regularly pay agreed upon rental contributions
- They are unable to have direct, healthy communication or have hard conversations
- Or otherwise don’t fit the value system of the cooperative
While we all enjoy our private time, we also really enjoy spending time together. The coop hosts community events & workshops, we take turns cooking & eating group meals, we do group trips, attend local shows & fairs, as well as unwind and watch movies and play card games together.
Your unique rental contribution will be discussed during the interview process, but the average amount is $650 a month. This flat fee includes all utilities (wifi, electricity, heat, lawn/snow care, trash, etc) as well as select shared resources (groceries, appliances, laundry, etc).
Additionally, employment opportunities are available through our storefront located at 161 Front St. in Farmington.
